Doctors Who Recommend Raw Milk
Education leads to enlightenment
At the turn of the century many doctors struggled to understand
the many diseases that tormented their patients. Often they did their
own research, because there were few others willing or able to do it.
Dr. Weston A. Price, pictured above, was a pioneer in understanding
that human health is predicated upon sound nutrition. He traveled extensively
to try to discover why many primitive cultures seem to enjoy better health
than modern Americans. The focus of his work became understanding the
quality of their food.
In many cultures fermented foods and dairy contributed
signficantly to the health of children and their parents.
His definitive work, "Nutrition
and Physical Degeneration" notes the efficacy of raw milk.
Dr. Ron Schmid, ND, has written about "The
Untold Story of Milk." In it he details the value of raw milk
and campaign by large dairy interests to remove it from the public.
Dr. Schmid has also "practiced what he preaches" by restoring
his own health through the dietary discoveries discussed in this work.
Dr. William Campbell Douglass, II, has written "The
Milk Book", which details much of the politics involved in
removing raw milk from the grocery stores. He also sites the health
benefits that have been forfeited by that action.
"The Milk Diet as a Remedy for Chonic Disease" was first published
by Dr. Charles Sanford Porter, M.D. in 1911. It detailed patient cures
for a variety of ailments using a regimented milk diet.
It has been revised and published again.
Dr. J. R. Crewe, of the Mayo Foundation, forerunner of the Mayo Clinic
in Rochester, MN, published in Certified Milk Magazine, January
1929 an article detailing successful treatments of patients using raw
milk.
